Current research projects
Our research group is mainly centered around two research topics:
Self-organization of the bacterial cell division machinery
We are using in vitro reconstitution to understand the mechanisms of the bacterial and archaeal cell division machineries.
Reconstitution of membrane-associated small GTPases signaling
We rebuild the regulatory circuits controlling the activity small GTPases to understand how they generate and process biochemical information in space and time.
For both research directions we combine protein biochemistry and biomimetic membranes as well fluorescence microscopy and computational image analysis.
